How to Apply: Master's Entry

Thank you for your interest in applying to the William F. Connell School of Nursing. Please read all the forms and materials carefully. These forms contain important details, and we recommend that you review each one in advance to ensure that you have the information to complete all materials by the master's entry application deadline of November 1.


program eligibility

  • A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • An undergraduate grade point average of B or better
  • Completion of prerequisite courses

prerequisite courses

Master's entry students are required to complete prerequisite courses prior to the start of the program. For course work completed before applying, please submit transcripts as part of your application. For course work that you plan to complete after applying but before starting the program, please indicate this on the application and submit transcripts following course completion. The following courses are required:

  • Two Social Science Courses
    Courses may be in the areas of sociology, psychology, anthropology, economics, or political science and may be from the same or different disciplines.
  • Statistics Course
    An introductory course is acceptable.
  • Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2 with Lab
    If taken separately, one semester of anatomy and one semester of physiology are acceptable. Courses must include lab and must have been taken within five years of application.
  • Life Science Chemistry with Lab or Organic Chemistry With Lab
    General chemistry will not be accepted. Course must include lab and must have been taken within five years of application.
  • Microbiology with Lab
    Course must include lab and must have been taken within five years of application.

  • Official GRE scores* (current within five years of application deadline)
    *Please allow 2-4 weeks for test scores to be received in order to meet application deadline
