CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (February 2014) --
William F. Connell School of Nursing (CSON) graduate student Meghan Crann, M.S. '14, is a recipient of the 2013 Jeremy Knowles Nurse Preceptor Fellowship through Massachusetts General Hospital.
Crann, who is now in the Adult Health Masters program, with an anticipated graduation this May, also received her undergraduate degree in nursing from CSON in 2008.
She is currently a staff nurse at MGH, where she has worked for more than five years, and is a preceptor at the hospital helping to train new nurses.
“I definitely feel very strongly about preparing new nurses," said Crann, who was one of two recipients to receive the award. "I love to share my passion for nursing and to develop them into the best nurses they can be.”
The fellowship was "established to recognize exceptional nurse preceptors who exhibit the qualities of teamwork, compassion, inquiry, scientific knowledge and leadership," according to a statement published by MGH.
Crann will receive financial support to assist in her educational and professional development as a clinician, mentor and preceptor.
