The CSON Diversity Advisory Board, faculty, students, and community members joined together with the YWCA to raise awareness about racism at the Stand Against Racism event.
The event will provided a forum to stimulate and enhanced awareness about the centrality of education as a social determinant of health for nurses, nursing students, alumni, and community members. It also gave nurse leaders an opportunity to give language to and hear various meanings related to being and/or becoming an educated nurse leader who takes a stand against racism and advocates for social justice
The Stand Against Racism ™ is a movement of the YWCA that aims to eliminate racism by raising awareness through its annual event. Organizations across the United States are invited to become Participating Sites by hosting their own "Stand." Individuals are then invited to join any of the "Stands", where hundreds of thousands of people will take a Stand Against Racism™ across the country. Learn more
