In April of 2011, Connell School Dean Susan Gennaro and seniors Danielle Dubuc, Colleen Nuzzolese, and Morgan Panzenhagen traveled to Lourdes to assist pilgrims visiting the shrine. While there they took part in different service activities. Each student was assigned to a malade (person who is sick) and a caregiver. They worked as a part of the pod to help comfort and give care to the malade. They also spent a day volunteering at the baths where people come from all over the world to wait in line for hours for a chance to bathe in the Lourdes holy water in hopes of a physical or spiritual miracle.

Nuzzolese described the pilgrimage as "the perfect fusion of peace, power and prayer, and
a journey on which I could very tangibly feel God’s presence and God’s healing power." For her complete thoughts, read more »

Panzenhagen said "The weeklong trip to Lourdes was characterized by what I like to call ‘God Moments,’ times in life when you can actually feel God’s presence." For her complete thoughts, read more »
