CSON professor named visiting professor at University of Glasgow
Associate Professor Rosanna DeMarco was named an affiliate research fellow at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. DeMarco, whose work focuses on women living with HIV infection, will share her research with faculty and students at Glasgow, starting in June 2012. DeMarco was nominated by Julie Clague, a researcher in Catholic moral theology and ecclesiology, Catholic social thought, and Christian approaches to public issues at the University of Glasgow. DeMarco and Clague are founders of the HIV and Religion Collaborative, a community of health care, academic, nonprofit, and religious organizations that promotes research on HIV, AIDS, and religion.
DeMarco is a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. In 2010, she was recognized by the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care with the Excellence in HIV Prevention Award. DeMarco, who earned her M.S. from Boston College in 1976, received the Alumni Award of Excellence in Health in 2007.
