Guest editor appointments
Assistant professor Holly Fontenot and post-doctoral fellow Heidi Fantasia will be guest editors for an issue of the Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing entitled “Issues and Influences on Sexual Violence with the Adolescent Population.” This issue will feature contributions from Connell School faculty authors Allyssa Harris, Natalie McClain, and Melissa Sutherland.
The official journal of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, the Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing is a peer-reviewed publication that emphasizes research evidence and clinical practice. The Journal is a resource for health care professionals committed to clinical scholarship that advances the health care of women, childbearing families, and newborns.
Holly Fontenot is a clinical assistant professor of maternal child health at the Connell School of Nursing. Certified as a women's health nurse practitioner, she teaches advanced practice in women's health nursing and theoretical foundations in women's health and pediatric nursing. Her clinical interests focus on women’s health, sexual health, and forensic nursing.
A post-doctoral fellow, Heidi Fantasia is study coordinator for the research team studying mechanisms underlying preterm birth in minority women, headed by Connell School dean Susan Gennaro. Fantasia’s research focuses on adolescent sexual decision-making and adolescent sexual health and safety. A board certified women’s health nurse practitioner, she maintains a clinical practice working with an adolescent and college-aged population.
