Associate Professor Rosanna DeMarco was given the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC) excellence in HIV prevention award to recognize the significant and outstanding contributions to the prevention of the spread of HIV infection.
DeMarco received this honor because of her work as a certified ACRN and a public health clinical nurse specialist and researcher serving Black women in one of the poorest sections of Boston where many women at risk or living with HIV are homeless, sex workers and continuing to struggle with active or histories of trauma and drug/alcohol abuse/addiction.
