1st Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium

February 2, 2007 - The undergraduate research symposium, which was the first of its kind, provided undergraduates a chance to present the results of their research anad grand-funded travel to their peers. The event was divided into three parts - poster presentations, film presentations, and panel discussions - spread througout Gasson Hall. Of the students representing the Connell School of Nursing, Jina Rameau, class of 2007 (pictured above with Dr. Joseph Quinn, Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences), was designated an Award Winning Presenter for her poster entitled "WEBQUEST: An Evidenced-Based Practice Approach Promoting Resilience in Students with Disabilities to Better Manage Teasing and Bullying."

Other students presenting included Kristin Jacques ('07), "An Integrated CARE Model for Identifying Women with Postpartum Depression," Michelle K. Jones ('09), "Families of Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs: Differences and Disparities," and Kristin Knopf ('07), "Depression, Spirituality, and Social Networks among Black College Women."
