INTERDISCIPLINARY HEALTH RESEARCH

synopsis

The scope and complexity of today’s scientific research, particularly   dealing with human phenomenon, demands that scholars move beyond the boundaries of their individual disciplines. The NIH roadmap calls for an initiative to explore new models for “team science”.  Building interdisciplinary research teams will allow for integration of knowledge and skills and provide for a collaborative effort in scientific discovery. It is pertinent that we develop an understanding of the fundamental elements for successful interdisciplinary research collaboration.
