The TELL (Teaching English Language Learners) Certificate Program is designed to prepare teachers to meet the needs of English Language Learners in their classrooms. The TELL Certificate Program consists of two courses and a 10-hour, non-credit training in the Massachusetts English Language Assessment-Oral (MELA-O) leading to certification as a Qualified MELA-O administrator. These requirements satisfy the Massachusetts recommendations for skills and knowledge for teachers of English Language Learners.
Boston College Lynch School graduate students interested in enrolling in the TELL Certificate Program should hold or be working toward Massachusetts certification in Reading, Early Childhood, Elementary, or Secondary Education.
