Full-time students at Boston College (students registered for 9 credit hours or more) or students enrolled at least 75% of full-time, are required by state law to be covered under the Boston College plan, unless the student submits the required Waiver Information. You may also file the waiver electronically on the agora website (www.bc.edu/agora) once you have a PIN. The Office of University Student Services can answer any of your questions regarding health insurance. You can download the waiver as well as review the Boston College health insurance plan at the student services website (www.bc.edu/studentservices). If you are registered at any time for fewer than 9 credits, you must choose to enroll in the health insurance plan if you need health insurance. Students enrolled full-time must submit proof of immunization prior to the start of classes in the Fall. We have enclosed the waiver form.
In addition to the previously required immunizations, a recently enacted Massachusetts General Law requires all new full-and part-time graduate students in degree-granting programs to provide documentation of receipt of 1 dose of meningococcal vaccine within the last 5 years or sign a waiver form, exempting you from the immunization.. All immunization forms must be received at least two weeks prior to the start of classes. The waiver form can be found on the website of the University Health Services (www.bc.edu/healthservices). You can select either full-time or part-time graduate health and immunization forms. The waiver form is at the very end of the memo from Dr. Thomas Nari. Please note that you will be blocked from registration if the either the documentation for or a signed waiver form for the meningococcal vaccine is not received prior to your registration. It is probably a good idea to submit the waiver form and then plan to get the vaccine if you wish.
