News and Upcoming Deadlines

Program of Study Deadlines:

In the fall semester, all second year doctoral students (except C&I) will need to submit their Program of Study prior to registration for spring semester. Doctoral Program of Study forms need to be signed by the student, faculty advisor, and department chair. Final approved forms should be submitted to the department office.

All Master's and CAES students who began their program in Spring 2015 or Summer 2015 (except Counseling) will need to submit their Program of Study prior to registration for spring semester.  Master's and CAES Program of Study forms need to be signed by the student, faculty advisor, and Associate Dean. Final approved forms should be submitted to the Graduate Office (Campion 135).

The deadline for submitting the Program of Study form for fall semester is Friday, November 6, 2015. If the form is not submitted by the deadline, a registration hold will be placed on your account and you will not be able to register for spring semester.

Final approved forms should be submitted to the Graduate Office (Campion 135).

The deadline for submitting the Program of Study form for spring semester is Monday, April 4 , 2016.  If the form is not submitted by the deadline, a registration hold will be placed on your account and you will not be able to register for summer or fall semesters.

Master's/CAES Comprehensive Exam Information - SPRING 2016


Students must register for EDUC8100/APSY8100/ELHE8100/ERME8100 and submit the online registration form in order to be completely registered to take their comprehensive exam requirement.

Degree Completion Request (formerly known as "Request to Graduate/Comprehensive Exam Request")

CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION

The format is a take-home exam and will be distributed on Friday, February 26, 2016. Exams are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 4  Students must submit the Degree Completion form by February 19, 2016 to take the exam. 

HIGHER EDUCATION

The format is a take-home exam and will be distributed on Friday, February 26, 2016.  Exams are by 10 a.m. on Monday, February 29. There will be a Higher Education Comprehensive Exam Information Session held.  Information will be emailed to those registered for the exam. Students must submit the Degree Completion form by February 19, 2016 to take the exam. 

APPLIED DEVELOPMENTAL AND EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY

The format for the exam is a Critical Literature Review. Critical Literature Review Proposal and Cover sheet is due to reader February 1, 2016. Submit completed paper to readers by March 15, 2016. Final Revisions (if requested) due back to reader by April 25, 2016. Students must submit the Degree Completion form by March 11, 2016 to take the exam. 

Students who began in 2015 will complete and present to the faculty a poster presentation delineating central experiences and findings from their practicum. Presentation will be done at the conclusion of the final semester in the program.  Once the form has been submitted, connect with your faculty advisor or program coordinator. 

EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH, MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION

The format is a multiple choice and oral exam.  Once the form has been submitted, contact Jillian Gomolka in the ERME Department to schedule your exam. Students must submit the Degree Completion form by March 11, 2016 to take the exam. 

EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP

For students in the licensure program, the exam consists of an oral presentation and defense of the student's practicum portfolio and leadership platform.  For students in the non-licensure program, the format of the exam is a written response to a series of prompts.  Exam materials are due on April 14.  Oral exams will be scheduled individually with the department toward the end of the semester.  All written exams must be completed by early April, with details to come.  Students must submit the Degree Completion form by March 11, 2016 to take the exam. 

ALL TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAMS

The Comprehensive Exam requirement will be satisfied by the successful completion of EDUC 7431/EDUC 7432, Inquiry Seminar. You MUST submit this form to be cleared to graduate from your Master's program. Students must submit the Degree Completion form by March 11, 2016 to take the exam. 

COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGY
The format is an in class multiple choice exam and will be held in the afternoon on Friday, January 29, 2016. Time and location TBD.  Students must submit the Degree Completion form by Friday, December 11.
