Hammad S. N’cho is a third year doctoral student in the counseling psychology department. Hammad earned a B.A. from Morehouse College in History and Biology, an M.S. in Environmental Management and Policy and an M.S. in Ecological Economics, Values and Policy from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University. His research interest is public health policy with an emphasis on the impact of social and environmental factors upon mental health and wellbeing within low-income communities.
Hammad is a member of APA, Division 17, Counseling Psychology, the Association of Black Psychologists, the National Forum for Black Public Administrators and was the recipient of a National Science Foundation teaching fellowship. Hammad Joined ISPRC during the summer of 2008 as a graduate research assistant, and is currently working on a project examining health disparities among Black Americans. Hammad has also assisted with the annual Diversity Challenge conference and the Summer Program.
In his spare time Hammad enjoys reading, traveling, debating political issues ad nauseam, and the peace that comes from staring into one’s fish tank.
