Although submitting the application online, via our website, is the preferred method for applying, you can also apply by submitting a paper application.  Please fill out the application as completely as possible.  If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Graduate Admission.

Please use the following instructions as a guide for completing a downloaded paper application for admission.

Personal Information

Please provide the personal information requested of you, including both your current and permanent contact information as well as an email address and mobile telephone number.

Citizenship Information

State whether or not you are a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, and if not, please provide your country of citizenship, city and country of birth. You will also be asked for your current visa status if you are living in the U.S. at the present time.

Applicant Information

Indicate the program to which you are applying. Please be specific and include the name of the program to which you are applying; your intended area of concentration (if necessary); the degree you are seeking; when you intend to matriculate as a student (semester/year); to which, if any, dual degree program you are applying; in which, if any, specialty program you are interested; the grade level you wish to teach if you are applying to a special needs program; and whether or not you wish to be considered for a Master's degree level program if you are not admitted into the doctoral program to which you are applying. Use the following Available Courses of Study as a guide in filling out this sect ion.

Ethnic Background

This section is optional and refusal to fill out the information requested will not adversely affect your application for admission. This section helps Boston College demonstrate that it is compliant with state and federal laws against discrimination. Information about your race is requested but not required.

Admissions Test Scores

Applicants to the doctoral programs, the M.A. programs in Counseling and the M.S.T. program in Mathematics must submit Graduate Record Exam (GRE) General Test scores. Applicants to all other programs may provide either GRE General Test or Miller Analogy Test scores, and in some cases GMAT, LSAT or MCAT scores. (See the Application Instructions for further information).

Languages

Please indicate your native language, and your proficiency in any other language(s).

Education Information

In this section, please list all of the colleges, universities and professionals schools you have attended. If you are a non-U.S. Citizen you should list all of the secondary schools as well as higher education institutions you have attended. You will also be asked to provide information about your professional experience, the persons who will be submitting letters of recommendation on your behalf, any awards or honors you have received, any publications or presentations you have developed and the other graduate schools to which you are applying.

International Applicant Liaison

If you are an International Applicant and wish to designate an individual in the U.S. to serve as your liaison, you may do so in this section.
