1.) What attracted you to the Lynch School?
After my experience working in the field, I knew I wanted to pursue a degree in special education, particularly in the greater Boston area. I applied to several schools in the area, but Boston College was my first choice, given their reputation in preparing future teachers, in and outside of the classroom, but more importantly because of their commitment to social justice and urban outreach.

2.) How would you describe your experience at Lynch?
Thus far, my experiences at the Lynch School and in my program have been demanding, but very fulfilling. I am currently interning full time at an elementary school in Allston, and was enrolled with a full load of classes, combined with the practicum duties of the program. It has by far been the most challenging experience of my life, but I really appreciate how much I have learned and grown through it. I have had the chance to see how the theories we learn in class correlate directly in the classroom where I teach.

3.) What advice you would give to prospective students planning to apply?
The best advice I can give to prospective students is to be proactive and try to manage your time wisely. I understood the importance of staying on top of things through the hectic schedule of this program. It really is important to keep up with the work, but also if you need help, you need to speak out and seek the support. There are a lot of people and resources who are willing to help, if you just ask.

Other than that, buy some snow boots. Best investment I've ever made....
