Requirements
Candidates must have received, or expect to receive, a bachelor's degree by the summer following the date of application to the Teacher Corps.
Candidates must have a major or minor in elementary, early childhood, or secondary education; a supervised student teaching experience or one year of supervised teaching experience; and initial teaching certification.
Candidates must have a desire to live in a community residence with other teachers and they must commit to two years of service in the Catholic schools.

- Graduate school applications must be sent directly to the Lynch School Graduate Admissions Office or completed online. Instructions and electronic application are available at http://www.bc.edu/schools/lsoe/admission/applying.
- UCTC applications should be received by January 15, 2010 for you to begin the program in June 2010. If you are not able to make this deadline due to special circumstances, please contact the UCTC office and we can try to work with you.
When submitting the application be sure to include:
- Application, including essays (submitted electronically through this page)
- Four letters of recommendation:
-- one letter from a current professor (may be a copy of recommendation sent into Lynch School)
-- one letter from your residence hall director or a current or former employer (may be a copy of recommendation sent into Lynch School)
-- one letter from a current/former roommate/housemate
-- one letter from someone who supervised you during your teaching or student teaching (may be a copy of recommendation sent into Lynch School)
Each letter of recommendation must be enclosed in a sealed envelope with the writer's signature across the seal. - Résumé
- Any additional information you think may be important to the selection committee.
- After all application materials have been submitted you will be notified and contacted via email to set up an interview. If you plan to attend the February Open House, please notify us via email at uctc@bc.edu as soon as possible to reserve your spot and schedule your interview.

Master's Program
The opportunity to apply to a Master's program at the Lynch School, Boston College is an added benefit of participating in the Urban Catholic Teacher Corps, although admission to a degree program is not guaranteed. Candidates must apply separately to the Lynch School of Education. Please note that the Office of Graduate Student Services has waived the application fee for UCTC applicants.
Background Check
The Archdiocese of Boston requires a criminal background check on all candidates who are accepted into the Urban Catholic Teacher Corps program. UCTC may not be able to accept candidates with a criminal record history. Misrepresentation or falsifications of any part of the application or its supporting materials are grounds for refusal of admission or dismissal from the program. UCTC does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, religion, gender, national origin, disability, or age.
