Organizational Studies-Human Resources Management Minor

for human development majors

Students interested in pursuing a career in personnel work or organizational studies may elect a Minor in Organization Studies - Human Resources Management in the Carroll School of Management.

The Minor consists of six courses in the School of Management as listed below. The electives may be chosen from among all CSOM course offerings. Research Methods and Analysis, PY216, should be taken as the pre-requisite to MB313

The following courses are required to fulfill the minor offered through the Carroll School of Management:

  • MB021 Organizational Behavior
  • MB110 Human Resources Management
  • MB313 Personnel and Organizational Research
      *pre-requisite - PY216 (required)
  • 3 Electives any management course for which the student has had the pre-requisite or permission from instructor. 

Applications for the CSOM minor are available in the Offices for Undergraduate Student Services, Campion Hall 104 and 106D. 

Procedure to declare a minor:        

  • Students should submit two forms to Human Development Director, Dr. Penny Hauser-Cram, Campion 239B.
    1. Organizational Studies Minor application (download here in PDF format)
    2. Unofficial transcript - may be obtained in Campion 104 or 106D
  • Once accepted, the student’s application will be processed through the Office for Undergraduate Students, Campion 106D. Students who have questions, should contact Maureen Raymond at maureen.raymond@bc.edu (617) 552-1858.
