International Pre-Practicum Experience

practicum experiences & teacher induction

The Lynch School of Education offers students the exciting oportunity to complete a practicum experience in an international setting for students participating in semester and year-abroad programs.

The Lynch School of Education encourages undergraduate teacher education candidates to participate in a one-credit international student teaching experience. Students are provided with the chance to complete an additional pre-practicum experience and to gain a global perspective of education. It is an excellent opportunity for students to explore a different country and culture while gaining rich skills for the future. Although students may not complete methods courses abroad, they gain a valuable addition to their resumes, have a topic for discussion during interviews, and earn a genuine bonus to the education program that school principals recognize and value in the job search.

Students who are interested in pursuing this opportunity should schedule a meeting with the International Placement Coordinator in the Office of Practicum Experiences & Teacher Induction.

We proudly send students each semester to countries across the globe to participate in international practicum experiences.

Keep in touch with these student teachers who have embarked on a mission to set the world aflame by reading the International Student Teacher Blog.
