There are opportunities for partial funding through the Boston College Office of Housing in graduate assistant and staff assistant positions. These positions pay room and board (valued at $8,000) and provide valuable professional experience in residence life administration. There are also full time Hall Director positions for students with Master's degrees and residence life experience. These positions carry room, board, salary, and tuition. (Students with exceptional backgrounds who lack the Master's can also apply as Hall Directors.) Students interested in any of these positions should contact Henry Humphreys, Director of University Housing, Rubenstein Hall by January prior to enrollment; the application process is completed in February for the following academic year. (Final position offer is contingent upon admission into the Higher Education program.)
Many of the colleges around the Boston region also have part time housing positions that pay room, board, and sometimes additional stipends. Babson Collge, Simmons College, Pine Manor College, and Mt. Ida College are examples of nearby institutions that have employed B.C. Higher Education graduate students part time in their residence halls.
