The Administrative Fellows Program in Higher Education enables talented graduate students to obtain experience in academic administration and research as part of a rigorous graduate program in higher education. Up to 18 fellowships are available to doctoral students and a few Master's students, providing a stimulating group of colleagues involved in the program. The program is a unique combination of supervised administrative experience and academic preparation. The program provides funding for at least two years of graduate study, normally at the doctoral level, and includes both a stipend and a tuition scholarship. Fellowship recipients are appointed to an administrative unit at Boston College and work under the direct supervision of a senior administrator. In addition, Fellows participate in a special seminar designed to link administrative experience with academic work (ED 976 -- one semester should be taken for credit). Graduate students involved in the program pursue coursework as well. The combination of work experience and academic courses yields an intense and highly stimulating experience.
