The Lynch School Ph.D. program in Curriculum & Instruction is intended to
provide:

rigorous professional opportunities in research, teaching, and
supervision that are integrated into the course of study over time;

a common cohort experience for students;

course offerings at the advanced level that draw on students’ experiences in schools and classrooms; and
- the opportunity to develop a broad base of understanding in Curriculum and Instruction as well as depth in a particular area.
Recognizing
that Ph.D. students in Curriculum and Instruction bring a variety of
knowledge, interests, and needs to the program, the program provides a
common structure while also allowing
maximum flexibility in pursuing
an individual focus. Y
ou are expected to develop knowledge of issues within the larger field
of curriculum and instruction as well as in-depth understanding and a
research focus within a selected major area of study. The
program has four components:
