Master's Degree Requirements

master of education (m.ed.) or c.a.e.s.

Students seeking the MEd take the six core courses in educational administration (seven for non-license students), one elective in educational research, and two elective courses in an area of specialization (Principal, Superintendent, Supervisor, Director of Special Education). For students not seeking licensure, the program of study requires 30 credits.

For students seeking licensure, there is a requirement of a three-credit course in the area of administrative specialization (Principal, Superintendent, Supervisor, Director of Special Education), a six credit practicum, and a three credit seminar accompanying the practicum. The total number of credits required for students seeking licensure along with the Master's is 33 credits. At the conclusion of the program of study, students sit for a comprehensive examination.
