Deborah Horan, a 2007 graduate of the Curriculum and Instruction Doctoral program at the Lynch School of Education, has been presented with The American Educational Research Association (AERA) Division Ks "Outstanding Dissertation" Award for her dissertation entitled, "Teaching elementary writing: Teachers practices and beliefs in the New England states."
LSOE professor Dr. Curt Dudley-Marling was Deborah's dissertation committee chair and readers were LSOE professors Drs. María Brisk and Dr. David Scanlon as well as Dr. Lad Tobin, an Associate Professor in the English Department at BC.
Dr. Horan is now a member of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Texas where she is a research assistant professor.
