Lynch School Fall Symposium

Save the date for the 15th Annual Lynch School of Education Fall Symposium!

Tuesday, October 21, 2014
4:30 p.m., Yawkey Center, Murray Room

"Early Childhood: Looking Back and Moving Forward"
Joan Lombardi, M.Ed. '73, Ph.D.
Dr. Lombardi served as the first Deputy Assistant Secretary for Early Childhood Development in the Obama Administration, as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy and External Affairs for the Administration for Children and Families, and as the first Commissioner of the Child Care Bureau during the Clinton Administration. While working with young children and families for more than four decades, she has witnessed a revolution in thinking about the importance of the early years to long term learning, health, and behavior. This symposium will review where the field has come since the emergence of Head Start and where it may be headed in the decades ahead.

Following the keynote address, Lynch School faculty members will offer remarks.

Rebekah Levine Coley
Counseling, Developmental, and Educational Psychology

Mariela Páez
Associate Professor
Teacher Education, Special Education, and Curriculum and Instruction

A reception will follow the presentation.
