Profile

Counseling Pyschology
The Counseling Psychology program prepares counselors at the master's level, and counseling psychologists at the Ph.D. level, for professional practice in schools, universities, and health care delivery settings.

The Ph.D. program has full accreditation from the American Psychological Association. We emphasize cultural and individual factors that influence psychological health. Students benefit from supervised practice in field placements.

Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology
Our programs in Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology are oriented around applied life span developmental psychology of children, adolescents, and adults. A primary focus of program content is the nature of diversity in gender, race, class, ethnicity, and physical and mental challenges. The MA and Ph.D. programs prepare graduates for a variety of contexts, including teaching, counseling, social work, human resource management and nursing.

Human Development
The undergraduate major in Human Development provides a basic foundation for careers in social service and community settings or for further graduate study in many fields of psychology, including Counseling, Developmental or Educational Psychology; or in other professional areas, including business or social work.
