Maris L. Abbene

Maris Abbene received a B.S. cum laude in biology in 1982 from Boston College and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Boston College Law School in 1987. Upon graduation from law school, Maris joined the law firm of Bingham Dana (now Bingham McCutchen) where she practiced as a litigation associate for six years. In 1993, Maris became the Director of Recruitment for Bingham Dana, and she held that position until 2002 when she returned to the Law School.

Judy Levenfeld received a J.D. from New York University School of Law, an M.Sc. in International Relations from the London School of Economics and an A.B. from Harvard College. She practiced health care law for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts before first coming to the law school in the fall of 1995. Judy was the Regional Director of Pro Bono Students America from 1995 to 1997 and then, the Associate Director of Career Services from 1997 to 2000. During her three year sabbatical from our office, Judy counseled public charities, worked as a J.D. and Alumni Advisor at Harvard Law School and served as an Admissions Consultant to Boston College Law School. Judy has extensive experience in both public and private sector career counseling.
Soo Jin Lim

Soo Jin Lim received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University and her Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law in 1996. After graduation from law school, she worked for two years as a Corporate and Bank Finance Associate at Bingham Dana LLP (now Bingham McCutchen), and then for four years at Lucash, Gesmer & Updegrove, LLP as a Corporate, Trademark and Licensing Associate where she represented high-tech and emerging growth clients from start up phase through sale of the company. During her Northeastern co-op rotations, Soo worked as a law clerk/intern in many different legal positions--at the Office of the Attorney General of Massachusetts, for the Honorable William G. Young, U.S.D.C. for the District of Massachusetts, at Bingham Dana and finally at Kotin, Crabtree & Strong.
Freda Fishman

Freda K. Fishman became the Associate Director for Public Interest Programs in January 2002. She has served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Boston, as the Associate General Counsel for the Massachusetts Dept. of Correction and as Director of Investigations for the Massachusetts State Ethics Commission. She comes to Boston College Law School from the Office of the Attorney General of Massachusetts, where she began as a staff attorney in the Environmental Protection Division in 1991. Freda then became Deputy Chief of the Civil Rights Division, and also served as Deputy Chief of the Public Protection Bureau. In 1998 she was appointed Chief of the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Division . A 1979 graduate of Boston University Law School, Freda has taught at Boston University Law School, and Harvard Law School and now teaches Consumer Law and Introduction to Lawyering and Professional Responsibility at BC Law.
Cara J. Fineman

Cara Fineman received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University and her Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law in 2001. Between college and law school she spent two years living in Latin America, where she worked as an elementary school teacher in Costa Rica and as a student activities coordinator at a foreign adult language school in Guatemala. After law school, she worked at the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law in Washington, DC, as a voting rights attorney. At the Lawyers' Committee she litigated cases around the country challenging restrictive felon disenfranchisement laws, redistricting plans that diluted the strength of minority voters, and other election schemes that disparately impacted the voting rights of minorities. During law school she interned with the Honorable Nancy Gertner, U.S.D.C. for the District of Massachusetts, the Center for Reproductive Rights in New York, and Equal Rights Advocates in San Francisco.
Emma L. Claughton

Emma studied law at Oxford University (Keble College), graduating in 2000. She was a trainee lawyer at Linklaters in London for two years, six months of which was spent on secondment to the Tate Gallery as an in-house legal advisor. Upon qualification in 2003, she worked in the Commercial Real Estate and Construction department at Linklaters where she was involved in advising on large development projects in and around Europe and Asia. While at Linklaters, Emma was active in recruiting prospective trainees. In 2005, she moved with her husband to live in Geneva, Switzerland where she worked for Swiss law firm Tavernier Tschanz as a foreign law associate mainly in comercial and banking.
Leslie LeBlanc

Leslie LeBlanc graduated from the Katharine Gibbs School in 1976. She has spent over twenty-five years working for law firms in the Boston area. Prior to starting in the Career Services Office in 2001, Leslie worked for Boston College Law School's Alumni and Development Office. She worked closely with BC Law alumni to organize and coordinate alumni events.

Kasi Davies received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Union College in Schenectady, New York in 2002. Prior to joining Boston College, Kasi was the Recruiting Coordinator/ Personnel Coordinator at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP from 2002 - 2006. During her time at Weil, she was involved in all aspects of the firm's legal and support staff recruiting for the Boston and Providence offices.
