In keeping with the long Jesuit tradition of public service, Boston College Law School encourages all students to consider working in the public sector as they begin their legal careers. A career in the public sector can be particularly rewarding. There are many different kinds of jobs available, from the Department of Justice to legal services programs. A career in the public sector offers its own challenges as well, such as lower salaries. But these challenges can be overcome by assistance from our loan repayment assistance program and other sources.
We have compiled information on fellowships, government and public interest work, summer funding and our Loan Repayment Assistance Program for your use. If you have questions or would like more information on a career in public service, please contact Freda Fishman, Associate Director for Public Interest Programs at (617) 552-4345 to set up an appointment.
