Heather Hayes

Heather Hayes
Assistant Dean

Heather received a B.A. magna cum laude in government from Clark University in 1992 and a J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1995. Upon graduation from law school, she joined the law firm of Cooley Manion Jones in Boston where she practiced as a litigation associate for three years. In 1998, Heather moved to the firm Testa Hurwitz & Thibeault to lead its lateral recruiting efforts. In 2005, she joined WilmerHale and held the position of firm-wide Director of Legal Recruitment at the time she returned to Boston College Law School as Assistant Dean for Career Services in 2013.

Christopher Teague

Christopher M. Teague
Senior Associate Director

Chris received his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 1999.  During law school, he completed internships with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, DC; The Honorable Hugh Bownes of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit; Zuckerman, Spaeder, Taylor & Evans in Miami; and the Palm Beach County Public Defender’s Office. After graduation, he clerked for the Massachusetts Superior Court and then spent nearly ten years practicing criminal law, both as an Assistant District Attorney in Boston and as a defense attorney.  Prior to joining BC Law, Chris was the Associate Director of Career Development at Suffolk University Law School and also a Career Advisor at Northeastern University School of Law.  He currently serves as the Northeast Regional Representative for the National Association for Law Placement and is the immediate past Chair of the LGBT Section. 

Michelle Grossfield

Public Interest and Pro Bono Program Director

Michelle received a B.A. cum laude from Brandeis University in 2003 and received her JD from the University of Miami School of Law in 2006.  While in law school, Michelle clerked for a private public interest law firm where she worked on civil rights and personal injury cases and interned in the Juvenile Unit of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.  For five years, she practiced as a Trial Attorney in the Children and Family Law Program of the Committee for Public Counsel Services in Brockton and Worcester, Massachusetts. She then transitioned to Boston University School of Law in the Career Development Office where she was the Assistant Director for Public Interest Advising from July of 2011 until she joined BC Law in September of 2014.

Jen Perrigo

Jennifer Perrigo
Director of Recruitment and Employer Outreach

With over ten years of law school career advising experience, Jen has advised law students and alumni in the public and private sectors on myriad topics including the job search, career transitions and professional development.  Prior to joining the office she was the Director of Career Services at Harvard Law School.  She is a frequent speaker on career-related panels and programs and enjoys connecting current students and alumni with new opportunities. Prior to entering academic administration, Jen advised and represented clients in a variety of civil legal matters as Managing Attorney of a nonprofit legal services organization. A summa cum laude graduate of Ithaca College, she obtained her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 1999.

Doug Saphire

Douglas Saphire
Associate Director

Doug graduated cum laude from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 2003 and received his J.D., cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law in 2006.  While in law school, Doug completed an externship with The Honorable Magistrate Judge Michael R. Merz of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.  Upon graduation, Doug spent three years as an associate at the Dayton office of Sebaly Shillito + Dyer where he practiced health care, corporate and creditors’ rights law.  Prior to joining Boston College Law School, Doug served as the Assistant Director of the Office of Career Development and Public Service at Boston University School of Law and the Assistant Director of the Career Development Office at Suffolk University Law School.

Leslie LeBlanc

Leslie LeBlanc
Manager, Recruitment and Operations

Leslie has over a decade of recruitment experience as the Manager of Recruitment and Operations at Boston College Law School.  Prior to that, she spent more than twenty-five years working at Boston law firms.  Currently, she oversees all aspects of the BC Law Career Services recruitment programs, compiles employment data, and works closely with employers, alumni and students.   She is active in the Massachusetts Law School Consortium, the Massachusetts Legal Recruiters Associations, and NALP, where she previously served as an invited conference speaker and as a member of the Tampa national conference planning committee.

Dorothy Commons

Dorothy Brooks Commons
Senior Career Counselor

Dorothy has more than fifteen years of experience counseling law students and law graduates in all areas of career development.  As a former director,  she enjoys helping people succeed in their careers.  Dorothy is certified to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and other career–related assessment tools. She holds a Master of Science degree in Higher Education/Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from UMass Amherst. Dorothy has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Bentley University.
