The information found on this site informs students about the various courses offered at Boston College Law School, next year's schedule, and some thoughts to keep in mind when constructing a course of study.
Students should also be aware that certain courses may be prerequisites to taking some states' bar examinations.
Certain jurisdictions also mandate completion of a professional responsibility course (or taking the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination [M.P.R.E.]) as a prerequisite for admission to practice law.
With the following exceptions, all upper-level courses are electives. Students must take Constitutional Law II and Professional Responsibility, or a related subject, prior to graduation. In accordance with ABA rules, students in the class of 2004 and thereafter, are also required to take an Upper Level Writing course (click here for list of courses).
Finally, some jurisdictions limit the amount of "clinical" credits that may be applied toward a law degree. Information about these and other bar admission requirements is available from the Academic Services Office, M308 Stuart.
