Who we are:
The Boston College LAB is a legal services office and a training site for Boston College law students. Cases are handled by law students who are supervised by staff attorneys.
The program is funded by Boston College Law School and through grants from Greater Boston Legal Services and Springwell Corporation.
Who we help:
Our services are free for low income residents of Waltham, Watertown and Newton. Services for small businesses and entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and first-time home buyers are free for eligible clients in greater Boston.
Low income elders may qualify for full legal representation in some civil cases.
Kinds of cases we handle:
- Public Benefits (Social Security Disability, Department of Transitional Assistance Benefits, Mass Health)
- Domestic Violence, Paternity, Divorce, Custody, Child Support, Visitation
- Unemployment Compensation
- Elder Related Issues
- Small Business, Nonprofit, and Real Estate Matters through the Community Enterprise Clinic
Kinds of cases we do not handle:
LAB does not handle criminal cases.
