Why BC Law: The First-year Curriculum
The stimulating first-year curriculum at BC Law introduces you to the analysis of legal authority and provides opportunities to develop oral and written communication skills in the context of professional responsibility and ethics. Two courses are full-year: Civil Procedure; and Legal Reasoning, Research and Writing, which, because of BC Law's substantial investment of resources, is nationally recognized for its rigorous curriculum and methodology.
In the first semester you also take Contracts, Property, and Torts. In the second semester you take Criminal Law and Constitutional Law as well as a three-credit elective selected from a menu of choices.
