Boston College Disabled Student Services Office
The mission of Disabled Student Services (DSS) is to eliminate physical and academic barriers and to assist students in achieving their educational, career, and personal goals through the full range of institutional and community resources. In addition, the office was established to insure that students with disabilities receive support services and accommodations to allow them equal access to all Boston College programs, and that they have the opportunity to realize their potential and to develop self-advocacy skills.
DSS is the primary office at Boston College with specialized knowledge and experience in physical disability issues. It serves students with hearing, visual, mobility, medical, and psychiatric disabilities. DSS, along with its Advisory Council, advises the administration on policies and procedures relevant to students with disabilities and acts as a general information and referral service on disability issues.
