Make sure your laptop meets the requirements necessary for network connection. RETURNING USERS - REACTIVATION	Due to recent network changes, you must: Reactive your Wired Ethernet Card Activate your Wireless Card for the new Wireless Network The BC Wireless Network called “RoamAbout Default Network Name” has been replaced by “BostonCollege”. You should delete “RoamAbout” and add “Boston College” and then activate on the new network. Re-Set-Up Network Printing (Windows Machines Only) Delete Your old printers (Bacon, lettuce, and tomato on AdmitM). The print queues have moved to a new server “Lawbackup”. Please pick up instructions from the documentation dispenser on the wall outside the Help Center (Law Library, Room 205).

NEW USERS - ACTIVATION New Users must configure and activate their laptops for access to the BC Network and Internet.	Please consult the guide to laptop computing at BC Law which was given to you in your orientation packet. This guide includes network configuration/activation and email instructions. Copies of the guide are available to borrow from the documentation dispenser on the wall outside the Help Center (Law Library, Room 205) or from the Law Library Information Desk.

Moving Between Buildings at BC Law	Due to the configuration of the BC Network, you may need to shutdown and /restart your laptop when switching between wired ethernet connections in law school areas and buildings. There are now 5 distinct subnet zones: Stuart House East Wing, 1st and 2nd Floors East Wing, 3rd and 4th Floors Law Library, 1st and 2nd Floors Law Library, 2nd and 3rd Floors If you are using the wireless network, it will not be necessary to shutdown and restart. These zones apply to wired ethernet only.

Laptop users can connect to the BC Network from wired ethernet jacks in classrooms, and library carrels and tables.

Wireless Technology is also available throughout the law school.
