SCANNING
Image and Text (OCR) scanning is available in each lab. Scanning workstations have ScanSoft OmniPage Pro, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe PageMaker, and Photoshop installed. Scanning Instructions (PDF):

Web Development Resources

  • Macromedia Dreamweaver is installed on the scanning workstations and Netscape Composer is available on all workstations.

    File Transfer Protocol (FTP) software is currently installed on all of the workstations. Instructions: Macintosh PC/Dell (pdf file)

  • InfoEagle Web Development Resource Page. Contains links to information on a variety of subjects including: guides to HTML, developer sites, development books, accessibility and usability guidelines, style guides and color resources, javascripts and CGI scripts, use of meta-tags, announcement services, and use of Boston College graphics.

Additional Resources

  • Direct connection to Lexis/Nexis' and WESTLAW's help lines is available from the Brian P. Lutch Computer Center Room 300. Room 153 has a direct connection to Lexis/Nexis' help line.
  • All computing labs have audio/visual equipment to enable large screen projection of computer data.
  • FAX - A FAX Machine is located in the Brian P. Lutch Computer Center. The FAX is a send-only unit. Local service is free of charge. Long distance service is possible with a personal calling card or your EagleOneCard. An instruction sheet is posted on the wall over the FAX machine.
