Since the law school is a member of CALI, law school faculty may use the CALI service known as Classcaster to host their blog. Classcaster also hosts podcasts. Classcaster blogs and podcasts may be password protected. Faculty will need a CALI log in and password to create a blog using Classcaster. |

CALI
As a member of the Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction, the law school offers a complete set of the CALI lessons to supplement your classroom instruction. Further information on the lessons is available at the CALI website. In order to access the lessons you must first register at the CALI website with a Boston College Law School authorization code. Contact the library's information desk to obtain the authorization code. Faculty may use the CALI Author to build their own CALI lessons.
CALI Conference
The Conference for Law School Computing is an annual gathering of faculty, staff, librarians, students and others interested in all aspects of computing in law schools and legal education. CALI has an archive of presentations and sessions from previous years.
Clickers/Classroom Response System
The Law Library owns 96 clickers that may be used to poll students' understanding of the material or to inspire and engage your students. The clickers are part of the Law Library's permanent reserve collection and will need to be checked out for practice and or use in a classroom. To guarantee availability, faculty should reserve their use of the clickers by contacting atrinbox@bc.edu.
The reservation calendar is available at http://cal.bc.edu To view the calendar go to the URL and log in using your BC username and password. Then select the 'View Agendas' icon and use the Search pulldown menu to search for 'Resources.' Search for the Resource Name: 'Law Library' and select Law Library Clicker Reservation Calendar, then select 'View.' Navigate to the date and time you are interested in to view if the clickers are available.

Course Web Sites
Faculty are encouraged to use course web sites for posting syllabi, readings, assignments, handouts and PowerPoint presentations. The law library maintains a list of the active course web sites. The law school supports two web course management systems: Blackboard's Vista and TWEN.
All Vista course sites are automatically password protected, and students receive individual accounts. Vista includes bulletin boards and chat rooms, online quizzes and surveys, a calendar and other tools.
Faculty may request a Vista site by going to http://bc.edu/offices/instruction/eteaching/webct/create.htm.
TWEN is The West Education Network and is hosted by WESTLAW. TWEN includes bulletin boards and chat rooms, online quizzes and surveys, a calendar, quick polls, and online signups. TWEN sites are created by faculty. Students must register for a TWEN site using their Westlaw password. TWEN sites may be password protected or open to all students at the law school.
Faculty may contact atrinbox@bc.edu to schedule training on Vista or TWEN.
