Course Web Sites

Faculty are encouraged to use course web sites for posting syllabi, readings, assignments, handouts and PowerPoint presentations. The law library maintains a list of the active course web sites. The law school supports two web course management systems: Blackboard/Vista and TWEN.

All Blackboard/Vista course sites are automatically password protected, and students receive individual accounts. Vista includes threaded discussion, blogs, journals, chat rooms, calendar, assignment submission, and other tools.

Faculty and assistants may request a Blackboard/Vista site by emailing LawEdTech@bc.edu with the following information; Course Name, Course Number, and Semester. Email confirmation will be sent once the course has been created.

TWEN is The West Education Network and is hosted by Westlaw. TWEN includes bulletin boards and chat rooms, online quizzes and surveys, a calendar, quick polls, and online signups. TWEN sites are created by faculty. Students must register for a TWEN site using their Westlaw password. TWEN sites may be password protected or open to all students at the law school.

To schedule a training session or if you have any questions please contact LawEdTech@bc.edu.
