These materials were distributed at a Library Faculty Scholarship workshop presented by Joan Shear and Professor Joseph Liu on February 29, 2008.
Current Index to Legal Periodicals (for Faculty)
The library subscribes to Current Index to Legal Periodicals (CILP) , a weekly publication that indexes articles in the recent issues of approximately 250 major law reviews. The most recent six months of CILP in paper are kept in the Law Library Periodicals Index section located on level 1. The latest eight issues are also available on WESTLAW in the CILP database.
SmartCILP, the electronic version of CILP, allows you to choose only those subjects or tables of contents you wish to receive. Once you have subscribed, each Wednesday you will receive an e-mail message containing the subjects and tables of contents you selected. Follow these instructions to subscribe to SmartCILP.
The Law Professor Blogs site links to blogs by law school faculty across the United States. It also includes links to useful resources such as casebook lists, professional organizations, law school news, faculty career moves, and much more.
Legal Scholarship Blog (Conference Watch)
Legal Scholarship Blog (Conference Watch) includes law-related calls for papers, conferences, and workshops. This service is provided by the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and the University of Washington School of Law.
Legal Scholarship Network
The law school subscribes to the Legal Scholarship Network, which is a division of SSRN, the Social Science Research Network. The LSN is designed to facilitate the distribution of scholarly research. To that end, it publishes electronic journals consisting of abstracts of working papers and articles accepted for publication. These journals are distributed principally via the Internet. The LSN also sends out announcements of professional meetings, calls for papers and special issues of journals, and professional job listings that carry announcements of open positions in academia and industry.
Faculty members can join the LSN or change their profiles at any time during the year. For more information, or to subscribe, visit the LSN website.
NELLCO Legal Scholarship Repository
The NELLCO Legal Scholarship Repository includes working papers, reports, lecture series, workshop presentations, and other scholarship created by faculty at NELLCO (New England Law Library Consortium) member schools.
