Therapy Dogs in the Law Library This Week

The Law Library is offering the chance for law students to spend some time with therapy dogs during reading period. Therapy dogs are great for reducing stress and anxiety, and they can even improve your memory while studying! The dogs will be in Law Library 279 from Noon-1PM and 2PM-3PM on Wednesday, 4/27, and from 2PM-3PM on Thursday, 4/28. Stop by and de-stress - no reservation needed.

Preservation and Political Instability

Preservation Week is also a time to consider the importance of protecting cultural heritage during international political instability. In the new book The Bad-Ass Librarians of Timbuktu-- And Their Race to Save the World’s Most Precious Manuscripts, Joshua Hammer writes about the 2012 partial seizure of Mali by Al-Qaeda militants and the emergency response preservation efforts by librarian Abdel Kader Haidara and others, who helped collect and save hundreds of thousands of historical Arabic manuscripts.
