BACKGROUND
Professor Judith A. McMorrow teaches torts, professional responsibility and related topics. She has written many articles on topics of professional responsibility and age discrimination (with a focus on retirement policy.) Professor McMorrow is active in pro bono activities, including representing women in Massachusetts seeking commutation based on Battered Woman Syndrome. She has also been active in promoting the interdisciplinary practice of law. After graduating from University of Notre Dame Law School in 1980, Prof. McMorrow clerked for the Hon. Gilbert S. Merritt (United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit) and Chief Justice Warren E. Burger (United States Supreme Court.) She practiced with the Washington D.C. law firm of Steptoe and Johnson before entering teaching in 1985.

Presentations: "Ethical Developments" and "The Federal Law of Attorney Conduct," at the American Law Institute-American Bar Association program, "Civil Practice and Litigation Techniques in Federal and State Courts," St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, in January 2003."Professional Ethics Lessons from Enron," an interdisciplinary round table at BC Law in March 2002 "The Role of Shame in Regulating Attorney Conduct," at the Law and Society Annual Meeting, in Miami, Florida, in May 2000. "Rules of Attorney Conduct in Federal Court Practice," at the ALI-ABA Civil Practice and Litigation Techniques in Federal and State Courts Program, in November 2000.
Appointments: President-elect of the Association of American Law Schools Section on Professional Responsibility. Appointed to a five-year term as a member of the Committee on Judicial Ethics of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Appointed to the Executive Committee of the Professional Responsibility Section of the Association of American Law Schools.
Activities: Member of the “Law Professor Misconduct” panel at the American Bar Association National Conference on Professional Responsibility, Naples, Florida, in June 2004. Organized and moderated the “Ethics and Class Action Reform” panel at the Association of American Law Schools 2004 Annual Meeting, Atlanta, Georgia, in January. With Dean Garvey and Professor Kalscheur, represented BC Law at the Religiously Affiliated Law Schools Conference at Notre Dame Law School in March.
