Boston College Law School, a highly ranked, Jesuit, Catholic law school located in Newton, Massachusetts, is accepting applications for the position of Associate Director for Annual Giving.  The Law School will participate in the soon-to-be launched historic Boston College capital campaign.  The campaign's culmination in 2013 will coincide with the 150th anniversary of the founding of Boston College.  This will be the first-ever participation by the Law School in a Boston College campaign.  Boston College Law School is located on a beautiful forty-acre campus one mile from the main campus of the University. The Law School serves a student body of 800, a full-time faculty of 54, and over 60 adjunct faculty.

Job Description:
The Associate Director for Annual Giving at the Law School reports to the Assistant Dean for Alumni Relations.  He or she will be responsible for all aspects of general alumni engagement, with a primary focus on raising participation in the Law School Fund in the $1-$99,000 range. 
The Associate Director will be responsible for all activities and communications aimed at engaging the general alumni population.  In doing so, his or her primary focus will be on developing the Annual Giving program (Law School Fund and other initiatives).  He or she will manage the direct mail and phonathon, various alumni participation programs (Ambassadors, BOO, faculty, etc.), the stewardship process and the Law Partners Program.  He or she will also be responsible for the dues program, mass alumni communications, and will be involved in regional Chapter related events and initiatives.
The Associate Director will collaborate closely with the major gifts staff in identifying and classifying giving prospects and he or she will also be responsible for personal solicitation of annual giving prospects.

Requirements:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree.  The level 24 position requires a minimum of 2 years professional level fundraising experience or an equivalent combination of some professional fundraising and directly related experience (e.g., experience in a law firm), with proven leadership and organizational skills.  The level 25 position requires a minimum of 3 years professional level fundraising experience, preferably in the annual giving program of a college or university.  A law degree or familiarity with the legal field, although not required, would be a benefit. In addition, he or she must have a proven record of soliciting and closing gifts in the $1,500-$99,000 range.  Excellent spoken, written and interpersonal communication skills are essential.  Some travel and evening and weekend work is required. 
The candidate must be skilled in the use of software programs such as E-Mail, MSWord, MSExcel, and FileMaker Pro, and possess adeptness in learning new programs as they become available. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, establish and balance priorities, and meet goals and objectives in an environment of high expectations with highly successful lawyers as volunteers, and must also be a mature team player who is motivated and dedicated to the goals of advancing a legal education, particularly one at a Jesuit Catholic institution.
