As
executive vice president of administration for Major League Baseball and former
president of the Detroit Tigers, John J. McHale Jr. ’75 knows about recruiting
talent.
The Board of Overseers meeting in spring 2003, says McHale, was “a call
to arms” to BC Law School alumni to improve their “giving average.”
Inspired, he pledged $100,000 to endow a fund to support faculty research and
scholarship.
First-rate faculty, says McHale, are “free agent players” who sign
with teams offering the best overall deal, and he hopes his gift will help ensure
that top-flight scholars are part of the BC Law School team.
