Professor
Ruth-Arlene Howe ’74 came to BC Law School in the spring of 1970 to audit
a course. “I never left,” laughs the family law specialist.
For more than a quarter of a century, as an alumna and faculty member, Howe
has put her paycheck to work for the institution in which she has made her career.
Howe’s enduring generosity is fueled by a keen sense of commitment to
the Law School’s mission to promote diversity and social justice. Her
giving has always been targeted, she says, “to ensure that there is a
continued, vibrant presence of African Americans at this school.”
