3L Class Gift: Class of 2014
Postgraduate Fellowship in Public Service
What we are fundraising for
A Postgraduate Fellowship in Public Service for a future BC Law graduate. The Class of 2014 aspires to launch BC Law’s first-ever public service postgraduate fellowship.
Why this is important
- This opportunity helps the School build on its commitment to experiential learning and public service. This student campaign builds a habit of giving to future generations of BC Law students.
- The fellowship will offer a student a foot in the door of an impressive public service institution, enabling him/her to build a professional network and gain valuable, hands-on experience to launch an exciting career.
- Many law schools offer fellowships like the one we aim to launch. Such opportunities will help attract students to BC Law.
What we are doing to make it happen
Through the remainder of the 2013-2014 academic year, we will be fundraising through a series of events, setting up tables in the dining area during lunch, and using personal outreach to increase support for this initiative. We have the support of our faculty members and a challenge from Dean’s Advisory Board member and University Trustee, David Weinstein ’75, which we hope will inspire our class to leave a significant, positive mark on the Law School through this effort.
