Mr. Sawitsky practices general corporate and business law. He has represented entities and individuals in connection with asset and stock sales, mergers, acquisitions, entity formations, shareholder and partnership agreements, debt and equity financings, workouts, management and licensing arrangements, employment, contract and other general business issues.

Sample Matters:

•    General counsel to Tweeter Home Entertainment Group, Inc., and on-going representation of the company in numerous acquisitions, financings, initial and secondary public offerings, and e-commerce joint venture.
•    Represented Michael R. Cannon and King Cannon, Inc. in the acquisition of the Fuddruckers restaurant chain and on-going representation of the chain.
•    Counsel to the Official Creditors Committee of Arthur D. Little in the sale of ADL’s domestic and international businesses.
•    Counsel to Castanea Partners, Inc. in their formation and various venture investments.
•    Represented General Cinema International, Inc. in the formation of a joint venture with Hoyts Cinemas Limited to create Hoyts General Cinema South American, Inc.
•    Served as corporate counsel to the Beth Israel Hospital in its merger with the New England Deaconess Hospital.
•    Represented the World Bank in mission to Argentina relating to reforms, consolidations and mergers within its health care system.

John P. ShoemakerJohn P. Shoemaker

Mr. Shoemaker joined Milestone Partners in 2002, having spent most of his prior career in the middle market private equity field. He was previously a Managing Director of Internet Capital Group where he developed and executed a strategy for building a portfolio of investments in the financial services area.  From 1996 to 2000, Mr. Shoemaker was a Managing Director and the head of the Philadelphia office of Mellon Ventures where he focused on sourcing and executing middle market leveraged buyouts.  From 1994 to1996, Mr. Shoemaker was Vice President of Corporate Development for RAF Industries, focusing on acquiring middle market manufacturing companies.  He was also both a corporate lawyer for Reed Smith Shaw & McClay in Philadelphia and an investment banker for Morgan Stanley in New York.  He has served on various Boards for the University of Pennsylvania and the Delbarton School

Mr. Shoemaker holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from Boston College Law School.
