Christopher C. Mansfield
Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Liberty Mutual

Christopher C. Mansfield began his career in 1974 as a law clerk and progressed to the position of General Counsel of Liberty Mutual in 1985 and was elected Senior Vice President in 1987.

Mr. Mansfield, member of the Massachusetts Bar, has managerial responsibility for over 500 trial attorneys, 175 paralegals and 400 support persons in 63 Field Litigation Offices in major metropolitan areas of 25 states; 55 attorneys, 23 paralegals, administrative and support personnel in the Corporate Legal Department; and, the Public Affairs legal function of Liberty Mutual.  The Office of Corporate Compliance is also part of Mr. Mansfield’s portfolio of responsibilities at Liberty Mutual Group.

Mr. Mansfield currently serves as a Director of The Pine Street Inn, The Massachusetts Taxpayers Association, and the New England Legal Foundation as well as a Corporator of the Dedham Institution for Savings.  He has also served his community as a member of the Dedham Finance Committee, Commissioner of Trust Funds, Dedham Youth Commission, Trustee of the Greater Boston Council of Camp Fire, and the Dedham Education Foundation.  He is a member of the University Club of Boston and Woodland Golf Club.

Mr. Mansfield graduated from Boston College in 1972 with a B.A. degree in Economics and from Boston College Law School with a J.D. degree in 1975.  He also serves on numerous Liberty Mutual Group Boards of Directors.
