“The community at Boston College made my LL.M. experience far more enriching than I expected. The program enabled me to build a broad network not only of fellow LL.M.s, but also of J.D.s and professors.”
Ana de la Paz is an experienced corporate lawyer whose practice includes acquisition transactions, corporate restructurings, joint ventures, securities offerings, aircraft leases, and similar work. She has spent most of her career at Canales.Davila, a leading Monterrey firm, returning to the firm after her LL.M. despite offers of employment from several other firms. She also teaches Legal English in Facultad Libre de Derecho de Monterrey’s rigorous academic program.
Ana earned her Licenciado en Derecho with distinction (mención honorifica), writing a thesis on the legality of restrictions on stock transfers in limited liability companies. Her coursework at BC Law focused on business and commercial law, but she also took a seminar entitled Authority and Leadership in Professional Life.
Ana calls law a “magnificent profession,” and has enjoyed every minute of her legal career. Her other passions include her husband (and LL.M. classmate) Sergio Rodríguez, jogging, yoga, photography, reading, traveling and the French language.
