Frank
White chose BC Law because of the strength of its corporate and business
law programs. After working for a public accounting firm for seven years in
the US and overseas, he decided that law school would nicely complement the
business background he had worked so hard to obtain. The city of Boston was
an additional factor.
“After having lived in Zurich for a while, I was ready to come home, and
I was excited to return to such a dynamic, modern city with a rich history,”
White says. “I wanted to be challenged by a strong and respected curriculum,
and BC Law really impressed me.” Returning to school was not without its
adjustments, but White does not regret the choice. “The diversity of the
faculty and students made every class a unique experience,” he says.
While getting good grades is important, White knows there is more to the law
school experience than time in the library. As an Editor on the UCC Digest,
which is used by commercial lawyers as a daily resource, he gained valuable
experience and enjoyed the fact that something he was doing in school had such
practical uses to current professionals. A seasoned long-distance runner, White
also managed to complete five marathons while at BC Law, and he also completed
two Ironman distance triathlons.
During his summers as a law student, White worked as a student advocate at the
Hale and Dorr Legal Services Center, and as a summer associate at LeBoeuf Lamb
Greene & MacRae LLP. He's now a corporate associate at the Boston office
of Well, Gotshal & Manges, and will be returning to the Law School in 2007
as an adjunct professor. “I’m thrilled about the opportunities I’ve
received so far,” he says. "BC Law has opened a lot of doors for
me.”
