The 134th Commencement of Boston College was held on Monday, May 24, 2010.

GSSW graduates and their guests attended the Diploma Ceremony held on Burns Lawn at noon. Kenneth Hebert, Class of 2010, gave the Invocation followed by Greetings given by student representative Amanda Barden Stradling, Cheryl Snyder, Vice-President of the GSSW Alumni Board, and Muthoni Muriu, Director of Regional Programs at Oxfam America. Student awards and diplomas were presented and the ceremony concluded with a Benediction by student Stacey Anglade.

4 PhD's and 220 MSW degrees were awarded to the graduates of the GSSW Class of 2010.

MSW graduate Amanda Barden Stradling, in her remarks, said of her class, "After today, as we spread throughout the world to serve in the barrios of Los Angeles, the projects of New York City, schools and agencies right here in the neighborhoods of Boston, or in rural villages in developing countries across oceans, we are united by a common mission: to empower people who are vulnerable, oppressed, and living in poverty."
