FMS Conference Overview
The NRCPDS is excited to be hosting our 6th Biennial Financial Management Services (FMS) Conference this November 9-10, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency in Baltimore, MD. The FMS Conference will be a day-and-a-half long and will feature workshops with participant direction tax experts within the Internal Revenue Service as well as with other FMS specialists and experts.
We plan to offer two tracks: Operation & Practice and Policy & Strategy. The Operation & Practice track will cover the foundations of participant direction and FMS. We seek presentations targeted to FMS practitioners on orienting participants and caregivers, working with service coordinators, enrollment and retention, working with managed care entities, effective transfer procedures, budget and authorization management, billing and claiming, tax and labor rules, implementing verification strategies, and other operational matters. The Policy & Strategy track will target the experienced FMS practitioner, manager, and executive, and will cover national strategies and more technically-oriented topics. This track will include future concerns and opportunities for FMS providers. We encourage proposals for topics around expansion of FMS, responding to RFPs, negotiations with states and managed care entities, compliance strategies, and other related topics.
Who attends the FMS Conference?
Last conference, we had over 200 participants representing state agencies, Financial Management Services providers, Federal agencies, Centers for Independent Living, and other partners. The field of Participant Direction sits at an exciting place today, well-positioned to grow rapidly, and demand for FMS has never been higher.
