Students, alumni, faculty, and staff are invited to attend a morning conference, "Diversity & Aging: Perceptions, Perspectives & Populations," to explore the intersections of diversity and social work practice and to honor this year's recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Awards. This event brings the entire Boston College Graduate School of Social Work community together at the start of the second semester to deepen our respect for the complex diversity of the people and communities we are privileged to serve and to strengthen our practice skills.
In academic year 2013-2014, the GSSW community is focusing on Justice, Diversity, and Aging. In keeping with that focus, this conference will explore the challenges that social workers face in meeting the needs of older immigrants and refugees and older LGBT men and women.
