A new collaboration is recently underway between the BC Center for Social Innovation and Pontifica Universidad Catόlica in Chile. The two universities are partnering to advance the field of Social Innovation by engaging in a one-year collaborative project involving faculty, students, and local NGOs in Santiago, Chile. This unique opportunity for international academic and student exchange will serve as a stepping stone for further collaborations in the future between the two schools of social work.
Utilizing resources, training materials and social innovation lab processes, developed by the Center for Social Innovation, the collaborative will seek to bolster the capacity of social workers in Chile to innovate alongside the community to address social inequalities. Students from BC will have the opportunity to engage in an international course, where they will learn about social systems in Chile and work with Pontifica Universidad Catόlica School of Social Work and local NGOs to implement sustainable solutions.
Two other cross-cultural collaborations are also in progress between the two universities. These projects, also fostering faculty and student exchange, are being spearheaded by the Connell School of Nursing, and the School of Theology and Ministry
